Office Rating System
So you want to know what all those cows mean? Well you have come to the right spot!
This rating system was developed to help inform users and software authors of the requirements that programs must meet to be added to our software archive. Our review staff uses a unique "Point Evaluation System" in order to determine the 3, 4, or 5 cow rating. We have put this system into place to ensure that each piece of software receives a fair rating.

What is a license type?
First of all, there are a few different software license types. The ones we have listed here can be found on TUCOWS OFFICE. This is just a general overview on what these mean:
Donationware: The software is free for your usage, but if you enjoy it, and want to continue to use the program, send a donation to the developers.
Freeware: The application is usually free for non-commercial use. Commercial institutions should consult the developers before using the application.
Adware: These programs are freeware or shareware applications for you to use, but include banner or other means of advertising within the program.
Shareware/Demoware: Usually has a 30-day free evaluation period. If you continue to use it after the trial period, you must register/pay for that application.
